Diane Tin BScPHM, RPH, CDE, CGP
ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVE
Diane is a pharmacist and the Allied Health Professional Association (AHPA) representative on the CATCH Scientific Advisory Committee. Diane joined The Arthritis Program (TAP) at Southlake Regional Health Centre in 2005. In addition to her pharmacist role, she is also the research liaison at TAP. She works closely with the interprofessional team to foster research culture.
Diane has done much in the way of promoting research aimed at improving patient care. Diane recently led the development of a project focusing on the effectiveness of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) for an outpatient Fibromyalgia (FM) Education Program. In collaboration with a York University student Seungree Nam, and professor Dr. Liane Ginsburg, the study served to determine whether the FM Education Program addressed aspects of anxiety including knowledge of the syndrome itself. Results revealed that the FM Education Program was beneficial in treating Fibromyalgia patients, and the project was presented at the 2012 American College of Rheumatology, as well as the 2013 Canadian Rheumatology Association Annual Conferences.
